Heartburn?

I've been having trouble with heartburn at night for a while and even though I know it's most likely to be related with what I eat, I still don't know what's causing it. Because I switch up a lot what I eat, primarily for breakfast, and it still happens. What can I do to figure out and/or control it?

Hate to state the obvious, but take an otc acid reducer. Problem solved.0

I'd like to know too - I have to take gaviscon every day and it doesn't help - I get the serious shakes too.0

I have a hiatus hernia, and have to learn what foods cause heartburn for me. Now, bear in mind, everyone is different, but there are some common ones.
For my husband, it's cumin.
For me, anything acidic like lemon juice or tomatoes. Heavy carbs like white bread. Sugary things like dried fruit.
It also helps to eat small amounts - if you're suffering in the evening is that after your largest meal?0
