The books were WAAAAYYYY better than the movie, by far.

I am in the middle of Dracula. I am slugging though it. It is one long book!

I haven't seen the movie or read the books yet... but, from experience, I know that all books are usually better than the movies. Books usually have more to them.
  • Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I am also anxiously awaiting the release of A Memory of Light, the last book in the Wheel of Time series.

Yes the book was most definitely better than the movie; although the movie wasn't bad, in my opinion...it just added some stuff that didn't really need to be added, I though.

Just started the 2nd book of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. Hoping to get through the books so I can rent the movie - and I second that the Hunger Games books are better than the movie, but the movie was pretty fantastic considering what usually happens when books become movies!

I'm rereading The Hobbit. My dad read it to me when I was little and I don't really remember much about the story. Plus the movie is coming out in December. :)

I'm not overly impressed with 50 Shades myself but my friends were like "YOU HAVE TO READ IT".
I don't see anything crazy or outrageous in them....but maybe I'm a perv.

@crw72209 - I don't see anything outrageous either. And honestly, she's not that great of a writer.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman

Re: 50 Shades - I wasn't overly impressed by book 1 (Gray) but the ending was enough to peek my interest. Just finished book 2 (Darker) and found it MUCH sexier and more well written. I'm looking foward to reading book 3 (Freed).

I'm also listening to Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (unabridged).
