turn to something else when you are craving food that is bad? Such as a sucker or other things? I think that is what my problem is in some cases because i can only say no for so long then i just over indulge ! Which is completely my own fault but i need ideas on how to get my mind off the craving by using something else to replace it! Ideas , Ideas, Ideas, Please ! ( :

  • when im craving a certain thing i usually turn to the extream opposite. like craving sweets ill eat something really spicy~~like chicken with salsa. craving salt, so ill eat some fruit or yogurt, craving chocolate, welll i usually eat it but ill try a dark chocolate or my pb2 chocolate.
  • I used suckers to help when I stopped smoking so it may help with the food craving as well. I have tried some of the suggestions on here but they don't always work for me. My problem is I work 3-11 at night and usually don't get to eat anything at work. So when I get home I am starving! So I eat what ever is quick to find, in the bed at midnight! This is killing me. I am trying to find ways to force myself not to do this! Haven't found anything yet but working on my willpower! Good luck!

I usually just make a healthier version of whatever I'm craving. For example, I've been craving chicken and waffles lately. So Monday, I made some low-cal, high protein waffles (don't taste low-cal or high protein, even the hubby devours them) and took some chicken breast, cut each breast into two strips, breaded them lightly in panko bread crumbs with grated romano cheese mixed into them and oven baked them. A waffle and a half each (we at the rest of the waffles earlier that day :D) and one 6oz chicken breast each. Add in some some sugar free syrup (it was all I had on hand for syrup, a leftover from a party that included someone does sugar free)

So I fully satisfied my craving with a meal that was under 450 calories, super high on protein (50%), a decent hit of carbs and was low fat enough to balance out my macros for the day.

But I'll usually just look at whatever I'm in the mood for (Chinese food, Mexican food, lasagna, etc.) and then make a version of it at home.

Or, if I haven't had a "cheat" meal in a while, maybe I'll just go out and get the real thing, since no matter how good what I make at home is, nothing tastes as good as the real thing. ;)

    I don't eliminate foods I like.

I just have them in smaller portions so I don't binge

A once weekly cheat will do you a world of good. It will rev your metabolism and give you the ability to satisfy your cravings, regardless of what those cravings may be.
