Does anybody know if there is a different name for fartlek training or something very similar that the exercise calorie calculator will accept ??

Fartlek translates to speed play, maybe try putting that in, or HIIT if that don't work. Hope it helps

Without a heart rate monitor Mfp would have no idea how many calories you burnt doing it as it would be so different from the next person, so just add it yourself

Easiest way - if you've been doing it on a treadmill...

Just track how long you were running at your fast speed, and how long you were running at your slow speed... And track it as running at Xmin/mile.

Not entirely accurate, but it's a start at least.
