I am Male, 49. I joined MFP 3 months ago, and am happy with my weight loss. I have started exercizing, and am feeling down. This is the story -

Several times in my life I have tried to be "fit". I have always ended being a failure. I have sacrificed a lot for my goal, but I have always given up.

Niow, when I exercize, because of several past bitter memories, my mind tells me - "You will fail and lose." I have always lost before I even start. How do I handle this? Am I alone in this or are there others? Others seem to getting things quick. Often I cry in "imagined" despair. Please Help if anyone can.

You are not alone in this! May of us have the same mental recording that trips and plays in are heads when we have doubts, worries etc. Just know that that little voice LIES!!! You can change what it says! Make a conscious effort to teach yourself a new mantra -" I AM strong! - I CAN do this! - I AM worth it! I WILL succeed!" Look at yourself in the eye in the mirror every morning and repeat that out loud!
When the little voice starts to lie to you change the record - play your own! It does help - look on line for the power of positive affirmation. It can change your life.
