Weighing Food

It may seem like a really silly tip, but actually weighing out your food has made such a difference for me.
I thought I was having a 'portion' of cereal, for example, but I was actually having two!
My husband and I have enforced the habit with pasta, rice, anything and it really does make a difference! I don't feel any less hungry than I did eating double the weight!

I weigh everything, even salad and vegetables (which my work colleagues find hilarious/ridiculous/obsessive). It definitely helps me to feel more in control and eat reasonable amounts of food.
It worked the other way round for me too though - I was really over-esitimating the weight of some foods so my portions were smaller than they should have been for certain things. Weighing it all has actually meant I can eat more of some things which I'd been restricting too far!0
