8 pounds to go and 30% body fat. What do I do now??

I have lost 24 pounds over the last 8 months. Being very close to my goal, I decided to have my body fat tested to see how much progress I have made. I figured I was somewhere around 25% and it turns out is 30%. I guess this just confirms that I need to add more weight training and learn to eat CLEANER.

I really want to get my body fat down to 22-24% by my 30th B-day, which is December 6th. Losing the last 8 pounds would be great too!

Thoughts??? Is this feasible?? Tips, success stories, etc???

First, I'd say don't get hung up on the scale number. If you're (for example) 140 lbs and 30% bf, that's 42 lbs of fat. If you're 140 and 25%, that's 35 lbs of fat - you've "lost" 7 pounds of feathers and exchanged them for 7 pounds of lead, which look much nicer, even though the scale is saying plateau.

Second, I'd say it was possible, barring any health issues. Work hard, FEED your body (a big calorie deficit is not your friend here, another reason to quit thinking about the scale), maybe get a personal trainer for a couple of sessions to set you up if you feel like you need that.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Unfortunately you lost a lot of muscle based on your body fat%. It's time to focus on your body composition (BF%) instead of the number on the scale and start a heavy lifting program. There are many great ones to choose from:

The New Rules of Lifting for Women (by Lou Schuler) Love this program!
    Starting Strength (by Mark Rippetoe)
    Stronglifts 5x5

There are groups here on MFP for each of the above programs. They provide great support. Do a search and join.

I recommend changing your weight loss goal to lose 0.5 lbs. per week. Customize your macros so you're getting at least 30% protein. Lift heavy weights 3 times per week. Your goal is totally attainable. Best of luck!

i would suggest lifting heavy...although i don't know how feasible losing 8-10% body fat in less than three months is, it took me over a year to get from 32% down to 23.5%. then again everyone is different.
