So I was pretty skeptical, by the way it looks in the package...does not look very good at all! I sent my boyfriend to get some bacon for the next morning (I never have/cook bacon but we were having guests for the night/next morning), and some hot dogs for grilling (yea its 24 degrees, but he would grill in a blizzard). He came back with turkey hot dogs, and turkey bacon. I was kinda upset because I was doing so well and could hardly wait for some real bacon the next morning. I tried it, and could believe that when it cooked it looked just like real bacon! Tasted similar too! At 25 calories a slice Im now a big fan! Also, the turkey dogs tasted better than regular hot dogs, and for you moms out there kids wont even notice!

Yes...anything that resembles bacon is fantastic! Watch the sodium on them...tends to be pretty high (thats why they are so good).

Turkey bacon is the best.I switched a few years ago, and when I started my weight loss journey I thought I could not have them..I never really looked at the calories until now..I use butterball brand..2 slices 30 cal and 180mg of sodium..not too bad...yes bacon..
  • I replace a lot of items with turkey now. Try replacing ground beef with ground turkey. I do this in Lasagna, Spaghetti Meat Sauce, and even Sloppy Joes! All those items normally are horrible for you, but if you replace the main ingredients with things that are better for you, it makes a big difference. Like in Lasagna I replace ground beef with ground turkey, ricotta cheese with cottage cheese, I use low sodium marinara sauce, and replace regular noodles with whole wheat noodles. It ends up being only 271 calories per serving. :) Have a piece of Lasagna for dinner with a low calorie salad and you are good to go, plus its great for the whole family!

I use turkey for a lot of things now, meatballs, hamburgers etc but I have to say that we have tried several brands of turkey bacon in our house and it all smells and looks like dog treats and it's ok to have a little REAL bacon every now and then. Center cut bacon is actually a good choice. I guess if you can stand it eat away but it's the same to me as butter vs. spreads or margarine, just not the same thing.

90% of the time (The other 10 is when my husband buys it) i used turkey meat as a substitute for bacon, sausage, and ground meat (for burgers and such) and i LOVE it, sure its not EXACTLY The same (my husband loves sausage so he is always picky about it) but it works and omg the fat grams are worth the switch!

I do the same thing. I can't eat red meat so I switched to ground turkey. Yummy. My husband (a junk food junky) even likes it!
