MARS candy bar doesn't want to be deep fried

So this just popped up on my news feed and I thought it pretty funny. Especially after reading this blurb"
The move to distance itself from the deep-fried Mars bar was reportedly made out of a health concern for its consumers. The company stated to the BBC: “We are really flattered that customers of Carron Fish Bar like our product so much that it has now become a flagship product for the store… [but] we wouldn’t be able to support it as deep-frying one of our products would go against our commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles.”

Umm, since when exactly did MARS promote a healthy and active lifestyle? They sell junk food for effs sake. I think the healthiest thing they make is Uncle Bens rice, white rice in a box.

Here's a list of the products they make. Well, more accurately the human consumable products they make.
3 Musketeers
Balisto
Bounty
Celebrations
Cirku
CocoaVia
Combos
Dolmio
Dove
Ebly
FLAVIA
Fling
Flyte
Galaxy
Galaxy Bubbles
Galaxy Minstrels

A Twix bar.
M-Azing
M&M's
Maltesers

Masterfoods
Milky Way
Minstrels
Munch
Promite
Revels
Seeds of Change
Snickers
Topic
Tracker
Twix
Uncle Ben's Rice
[edit]Products manufactured by The Wrigley Company

5 gum cobalt packaging.

Airwaves
Alpine
Altoids
Big League Chew
Big Red
Bubble Tape
Doublemint
Eclipse
Eclipse Ice
Excel
Extra
Freedent
Hubba Bubba
Juicy Fruit
Lockets
Orbit
Ouch!
Skittles
Starburst

Tunes
Wrigley's Spearmint

Now I admit there are some on this list I have never heard of and I"m not going to bother googling them. I just find it very ironic that a company making such healthy treats as Skittles has an issue with a store deep frying one of their candy bars.

the deep frying is healthier than the candy bar itself, provided a reasonable oil is used.

MARS bars are advertised here in the UK or used to be "helps you work, rest and play". Another part that was broadcast yesterday on the BBC is that "they have reduced the saturated fats in the MARS bar so by deep frying it reduces the benefits of that".

I guess they are trying to improve it's healthy image

I'm curious if anyone has had a fried candybar, or icecream or any of the other stuff they drop in boiling fat.
