Frozen Yogurt

Anyone know if I could successfully put regular yogurt in the freezer if the end result will be frozen yogurt in the sense that you can buy frozen yogurt, or is it made completely differently?

I've noticed I cannot buy frozen yogurt in a decent quantity and the YooMoo is quite expensive, so I thought for my smoothies, I would simply buy normal yogurt and freeze it, but I'm not sure if this would work.

Anyone done this before?
