Your first 5 pounds How long did it take to go?

Curious as I have been dieting and exercising for 10 days now..

How long did it take until you lost your first 5 pounds and what was your starting weight at the time?

I started at 234. It took about two weeks before I lost five pounds. I started my MFP journey a little over two months ago (started to try to lose weight before joining MFP, though, but lost nothing).

I did a lot of Zumba.

I have changed my lifestyle which has included changing my diet, but I did not start "dieting."
I lost 9.2lbs in the first month and I started at 198. So, I'd say within the first 2.5-3 weeks I lost my first 5.

Don't give up, just give it time. Best of luck!

It took me a couple of weeks, though it was my fastest loss since it was just water weight, I believe.
  • My orginal starting weight (before MFP) was 350 :o it wook me a week and a half to lose 5lbs. Of course it was water weight

Gosh, it took me like 6 weeks for the scale to budge at all! But in that time my body was changing- During those 6 weeks I lost 3.5" on my waist, 2" in my hips, 1" in each thigh, and 2" in my bust. The scale isn't always a great reflection of success. Keep it up- you will get there!!!
  • I lost it in about a week. I was over 165 for a woman. I lost it on my stomach. I did not think it looked thinner but i tried on a dress today that had been tight and it was wearable.:) Very happy only 25 more to go. it is getting much easier.
