Sugar (!)

I've been cutting down on sugar a lot these past couple weeks, and am still going over the amount (30 grams/ day) MFP suggests. I keep finding sugar in foods I didn't know it existed! My delicious tomato soup? 12 grams! A whole tomato? 3 more grams! And other weird foods you wouldn't think have sugar have lots. Plain ground up peanuts even have sugar! Can anybody offer up ideas on where and how to cut out sugar? Also, does anybody know a few food ideas that taste good but don't contain it? Thank you for any ideas!!!

All fruits have sugar in it. Some veggies too. It's hard to totally bypass sugar, just be smart about it. Don't dump a thing of sugar in your coffee, or add sugar to your foods, or eat foods that you know have processed added sugar in it. Avoid fruit juices because they usually add sugar. Check the ingredients in your tomato soup to make sure they didn't add the sugar to it. Just be sensible and keep your sugars in check. I tend to ignore my fruit sugars and just keep track of everything else. But I also don't eat a ton of fruit, usually just one or two a day.
  • Your sugar is fine most days, I always judge by if I go over by more than half, now your sodium on the other hand, ouch. Cut out the processed food and you'll be just fine.
