Well figured I should do the intro thing - I've been lurking for a while, tracking for a few days and today I took the plunge.
I took my 'before' shots and measured myself.
Now if you're anything like me you'll have spent a good deal of time just not looking at yourself, I think I have gone over 12 months avoiding the mirror. So today I made myself really look at what was going on below my neck. And I tried not to be too critical but simply accept the reality of the body I have now. I'm trying to not make my happiness dependent on some in the future mythical, at this point, me - I need to accept what I have now, realise that I did this to myself and so I have the power to change it. I've spent so long being down on myself, I'm trying to bring some positivity to this whole experience.
So, 42, 5'3, 12st 9lbs - 177.
I haven't been this size since I gave birth to my son 18 years ago.
Like everyone I have a story of how I got here but you know what, screw that. I ate too much, moved too little. The end.
Today is another new beginning and I'm sure I'll have lots of new beginnings. but today, and the last week have felt good.
Looking forward to being part of this community - and if there is anyone from Lancashire on here say hi.

I'm from Lancashire, but live in Surrey now (not through choice -blame hubby's job!) I'm 47 and been trying to get back to a healthy weight for a couple of years! This is my last ditch attempt!
It's really made me look at what i'm eating and do a bit of exercise!
Good luck!0 -
Hi Nix, I'm Dave from sunny (sometimes) Clitheroe. A Yorkshire lad at heart but have lived in Lancashire since '74.0
