ripped in 30

Hey all,
Just wondered what weights people are using for RI30?? Also, should i do it 6 days a week and have a rest day? Im on day 5 on the first level now and my knees are hurting like hell so think a rest day is in order. What do you guys think???
Thanks

I used 2kg (4.4lbs) weights for RI30. As with any fitness program, you need to listen to your body and respond to it... Rest if you're feeling tired...eat more if you are feeling hungry etc. There is alot of stress on various parts of the body (especially the knees I've found) in Jillian workout DVDs, I'm on my 4th as we speak and it doesn't get any easier! Working on that all important form helps to prevent strains but if you are unlucky enough to have pain (im sure we all do from time to time) remember to rest up and let it heal, the last thing you want is a permanent injury. Remember to warm up and cool down properly.. I found that I sometimes needed extra stretches to ease achey legs. I worked out 6 days per week and I had designated rest days, but there were times when I had to take unscheduled days off. It's no biggie, I would just work out on the planned rest day instead!

    Good luck with ripped!

I've completed all of Jillian's dvd except for "Thigh & Buns"LOL! Mostly for women. I agree with a_new_dawn. Listen to your body. You could go 5 days and rest two. Or you could take Mon and Thur off. The program works well and you will get some awesome results.Just be sure not to injure yourself or burnout. Also if 4.4 lbs is too light you can increase to 6 or 8 lbs.
  • Thankyou! Im using 5lb (2.3kg) weights and i find that they are a bit easy on some of the exercises but then ok for others. I ll stick with this weight but may buy the next weight up then i can alternate. Ive done 30 day shred then went on hols for 10 days then started RI30. I havent much weight to lose I just want to tone up so im hoping that this will work. This week (week 1) Ive done Mon, Tues, Weds, Sat and Sun. I was so tired thurs and fri that i just couldnt face it. Thanks for replying and taking time out of your day to do so. I really appreciate it. Any ideas for what to do at the end of RI30????
  • For RI30 after 30DS I found levels 1 and 2 to be no challenge. I decided to "start" at level 3 and am enjoying it... or at least I enjoy the shivery, aching muscles afterward.
  • Oh really? I did think it was a little easy. I ll do level 2 tomorrow and see what i think of that! Thanks

All of Jillian's workout DVDs are fab and would make a great follow up! I did 30 day shred, then ripped in.30 also... I followed that with six week 6 pack and now I'm doing no more trouble zones (and c25k).
