Twinges after lifting - (over 30s)

I did 2 higher volume sessions this week (2x15-30), with 3-4 hamstring exercises both times. After the first, I've been a bit aware of my left hammie only - just a twinge, nothing big.
Have had 1 day off and 2 days 30-55 mins active recovery (light cardio -brisk walking, swimming) in between.
I'm inclined to not do any lower body again, at all, until it goes away altogether (bc it's specific; rest of me, afterwards, was sort of pleasurably fatigued).
Maybe I'm babying myself, & be honest I'd rather keep at it, but have learned from muscle tears, tendonitis, etc, not to push it...
Thinking of sticking to upper body and light cardio (or maybe not?), and then just working this into an upper/lower split.
What would/do you do?

Yup only I've had it real bad. It's usually something with electrolytes. You have to experiment around until you find what works.
I like Emergen-C sports 0 calorie packets mixed with some stevia.
I've tried Himalayan crystal salt (perfectly balanced electrolytes and untainted by pollution)
potassium (supplements, v8 juice, or coconut water) <--- This is what works for my husband (the juices)
But what finally worked for ME was the sports packets and New Chapter Bone Strength supplements (because I'm an old lady!)
You have to find what balance works for you.
Don't quit the weights! LOL I recently had a DXA scan done to check my bone density and it turns out at 51.5 years of age I have the bone density of a super fit 30 year old (from my years of lifting). Now if that is not scientific proof that lifting keeps you young and wards of osteoporosis I don't know what is!0 -
stretch good before workouts, make sure you replenish electrolytes, getting enough potassium and magnesium, also make sure your warming up...just mix that in with stretching should be fine0

Thanks guys! I always forget about electrolytes
I do 5 -10 mins of a dynamic warm up (pushups, bodyweight squats, modified burpees) - I'm lazy with stretching, always. Will throw that in too
Glad you've had such great results, californiagir! No, won't stop lifting, just want to do it so I can keep doing it0
