Awww, adorable! Have you thought of a name for her? She looks really cute.

I have a HUGE list. Like really...it's silly! But I am waiting to name her until she gets a little more settled and I can see her personality :)

Here's the list. We live in the Yukon by Alaska so that's what the bottom ones are about.

    Raven

    Shadow

    Snoop

Sugar Cane (from Some Like It Hot)

    GiGi

    My vote's for Raven....lol!

We have two ferrets, a Chocolate boy named Bonzai and a smaller all white but with black eye's girl named Wasabi. they are the most adorable fun wonderful but time consuming pets ive ever had. The little girl is deaf, common in all white but black eye'd ferrets, so training her was difficult at first, but she's now my little baby. We take them for walks, they play with the cats, they hang out outside the cage for most of the day. I love that we have two, to watch them play together is the highlight of my day.

Im so very excited and happy for you, to know what she needs, to be able and willing to rescue and take care of her is awsome. Im sure you'll make her fat and happy in no time with all the love attention and vitamins she'll get from you. Thank you for making her life happy during the short lives they live.

    Edit: she's adorable!

I love ferrets. They are so much fun, but every time I think of getting another one, I remember how my last two went. We got them from a private party and after a couple years, the first one got thin and her hair fell out. There's nothing uglier than a nekkid ferret! It was adrenal cancer. About a year later, the other one got it. The vet told me they are just prone to it. The last one lived quite a while in her naked state. She seemed happy and her quality of life was good for quite a while. When she finally started to seem to feel ill, I had her put to sleep. I've thought of getting another one over the last couple years, but don't want to go through all that again. They have such fun personalities.
  • She I just too cute. So awesome that you rescued her!!! Wishing you all the best with her.

I'm glad you rescued her! She is adorable! YAY!!!! For rescue animals
  • I have never owned a ferret but my friend did and they were pretty cool...at one time she had a skunk too...weird. All of my animals (minus my reptiles) are rescues. It feels good to give them a home, but if I keep doing it, they'll take over my home. I feel like I live in a zoo as is.

Love it! We used to have 5 fuzzy children (ferrets), prior to our actual children. I've kinda been thinking now that the kids are older it may be time to welcome one or more fuzzys back to the family.
  • Awwwww poor baby, she's lucky you found her! She's so cute  I want one!

What a cutie! I'm voting for Miska. In general I'm opposed to naming animals people names. It can be really confusing.

We have a daughter named Lila. The people who moved in across the street have two puggles, one of them is named Lila. Every time they scold their dog our daughter looks around confused that these people are yelling at her.

The sweet oily stuff in a tube! My ferrets would beg for it and fight each other to steal portions of it. I'm really glad you could take her and give her a good life. :) already spayed? Our lady ferret was named Elyria but your list of names is immense and great!

We rescued a little ferret that looked much like yours with a story much as you described about 18 years ago now! She turned out to be a real sweetie. She seemed to be a bit nervous that things might go wrong again and she'd wind up being ignored... for the first couple of years she was with us she would come seek us out almost as if checking to be sure we were still there. She also developed a fondness for grooming us... wanted to try to clean ears and groom eyebrows!

We named her Laska... which means "love", "grace" or "favor" in some Polish/Russian/other eastern European dialects. It fit her.

She's so adorable! And you are an angel for rescuing her. Too often animals are abused because they can't ask for help!

Weight loss could also be attributed to not having been brought out of season ?

Thanks everyone :) I'll post more pictures when she's happy and playing.

It's pretty funny, my boyfriend has never had a ferret before and calls them "stink weasels". He has been saying no for me wanting one forever.

Now he wont put her down!! Carrying her around on his shoulder everywhere lol :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESCUING HER!!!!!!!! Why do people get animals and then NOT take care of them properly??

She has come into your life for a reason. She will bring you much joy and happiness as you will her.

My best friend had a ferret once-it would 'steal' things and hide them in a dresser drawer in their master bedroom. I always liked going to see her 'stash' and whenever they were missing stuff they knew right where to look :o)

    Happy ferret parenting!!
