Loving the idea of 3 a night. And I would def. also consider the smashing them suggestion. This is gross but I have actually put one in my mouth before, chewed it and then spit it in the garbage...did I just admit that...oh well ...whatever works!

    I accept Oreos as donations.

This. They are one of my vices. And unfortunately I had a very bad day Friday and binged a little (or a lot) on them. But I am not beating myself up over it. It happened, and will probably happen again. I am only human :blushing:

You are never going to be free of your addiction until you learn to THROW Food AWAY! Do NOT Fear to Throw Food away, out of the Fridge, Cupboards AND when you are FULL at the Table (Slide the Chair BACK Slowly, Raise your hands up, PUSH your seat BACK from the table and Slowly get up; Take your Right Hand and pick up your plate, take 2 steps away from the table towards the TRASH CAN or Sink-o-Rator, walk moderately fast to the disposal and DUMP THAT Left Over Food in it! NOW SMILE!)

Something that is actually really good and may help with the craving is to take one or two oreos and smash the hell out of them and then mix them in some good greek yogurt. All things in moderation.

I like this idea! Might have to try that sometime!
  • It is real simple. If you keep junk food out of the house, you can't eat it.

    Ooh, this sounds good....

DON'T DON'T Fall for THIS...If YOU know YOUR weakness, DON'T allow Someone Else's Strength to Lure You In to a FOOLISH DECISION! THAT person may be able to eat Oreo's in MODERATION, but CAN YOU?

As for ME, yea, I handle them alright...I buy the 6 in a pack when I want some...I would NOT dare bring home a sleeve or more. KNOWING YOURSELF is 75% of the Battle in beating Food Obsession...DO YOU! Someone can say eat in Moderation BUT are THEY an ADDICT to FOOD or would they say Moderation to the thing THEY can not be Moderate ABOUT? DO YOU and be Safe and Happy!

ohhhhhhhhhhh they have all sorts of flavored Oreos now. The Raspberry Ice cream Oreos are just like the double stuffs but flavored..........soooooooooooo yummy.

Seriously dont tempt yourself....or cave and have a couple then freeze the rest in 2 or 3 pack zippys for a later date. Denying yourself wont help.............been there

I agree with Resty... all things in moderation - that's why I keep junk food in the basement so out of site out of mind... if you destroy them you will probably replace them (I would)....

Just keep the temptation outta reach. Make them difficult to get to. Keep them away from where you sit and relax...or away from the desk / computer. If you make it so you have to get up an go get them or unbury them from the freezer or pantry you wont be as inclined to eat them without consciously thinking about what you're doing.

I have a huge bag of extremely fresh whole lightly salted cashews in the desk drawer behind me. Those damn things are pure evil so I have to keep them hidden or I'll gradually eat half the bag just sitting here.

Denying yourself will only make you want them even more.

Probably the best advice...maybe I shouldn't open them up at all...Think they will go in the trash. !!

    ^that is funny!!!!!
  • I actually gave in to the Oreo craving today, haha.:P Felt kind of bad at first, but I didn't go over my limit of anything today, so I think I should be all right.

For the record, I just ate a single serving for dessert. So it's not like I binged on them or anything. I ate the healthy stuff first and then treated myself. As others have said: moderation is key!

keep them out of your house!!!! i'm like that with icecream -- keep eating it until it's gone .. but if it's not here than i'm ok w/o it!!! be strong and choose yourself first!!!!

If it were me I would throw them away in a heartbeat - or sit down with a glass of milk and knock them off in one sitting though it would be definitely better to chuck them. As you can tell from my pic, for me that's not a binge, it's a serving. Or should I say, "... was"

Having them around is like trying to quit smoking but leaving a pack of smokes in your purse.
Toss them your kids don't need them either

Don't do it , Laura...We both know that eating 1 leads to eating 2 leads to eating 3...so on until you're eating 3 or ,more a night ,until the bag is empty. Then your husband wants to know ...." Who ate the OREO"s?.......I dunno , not me!! ; )

I'm having some Oreo's right now.

Preplan your day and find the space for the foods you need to have protein/fiber food and the fat/carbs that taste good =)

Throw the damned things out. Oreos and Nutella have no place in my house because I lack self-control when it comes to these particular food items. I know I can keep a jar of peanut butter and a box of chocolate chip cookies and trust myself to eat them in a rational manner, but to other people those particular foods may be kryptonite. Know your limits.

    I can totally relate.
However! I have noticed that my ability to say "no" has increased dramatically!
I think this is because I do treat myself regularly.
But it's sorta timed and metered....so it doesn't result in some sort of unproductive binge.

Upon occasion, I need a day to eat whatever I WANT.

How can anyone hate an Oreo? The creamy-delicious filling....crispy-chocolatey cookies....that glass of milk begging them to come take a dip...

    OMG! Throw them away!
