One of the badges my Brownie Girl Scout troop is working on is Snacks. One of the things we need to do is discuss carbohydrates, fiber, fat, and vitamins. Anyone know of a good website or how would be the best way to explain these things to 8 year old girls? I want to keep it very simple. Any fun tips or ideas how to introduce them to how they affects your body.

I think taking a meal and explaining what each part offers could be a nice visual to help them grasp the concept. Start by asking them about their favorite meal then present yours. A basic explanation of carbs -> glucose -> energy as well as protein/fats for being used for the cell could help them understand why they need to eat healthy foods. Lots of visuals for 8 year olds. Did I mention visuals? lol0
