I just cannot have the stuff in the house.0

I try to buy things that are healthy but being a mum I get snacks for the kids and find myself starring at them at night thinking should I?0

I'm the opposite, since I quit the sugars and processed stuff I just don't crave the nutrient-poor sweet stuff (which to me is 'the bad').
If there were a tray of doughnuts then I could walk past them quite happily.
I've been to a few parties crammed with junk and I can just pass them by.
That would not have been the case 9 months ago when I was on the blood sugar rollercoaster needing to eat every few hours.
I eat nutrient-dense, filling food and, to be honest, I have not got room for the junk.
But then again my nutrition is 65% Fat by calories ... Some would call that 'bad' ... Hey ho ...0 -
I am an absolute carb addict. And sweets. And cheese. Everything really. I will try to have alternates around rather than nothing. Dark chocolate, peanut butter, string cheese... I still have to make the choice to eat those instead of the cereal or ice cream, but at least I have the choice... And I often choose correctly;)0

my take, nothing is BAD just different, food (manufactured or not) some healthier than others can rev your body's engine or act like sludge. You make the choice not just for you but your children. I too thought I needed to keep crackers, cookies, candy, pretzels etc in the house for my children but in the end it was an excuse so I could have easy access to snacks Kids will eat what is allowed. I replaced the snacks (not throwing out the stuff in the closet) but gradually let it run out with healthy food. When the kids balked I told them I was working on gettting healthy and wanted to try new foods. Always blame it on mom. Once the less healthier snacks are gone never bring them back. Food shop by yourself if you can and always on a full stomach. If necessary have someone else shop with or for you, sounds crazy but my oldest son is a stick to the list guy. I know the transistion is tough I'm only 26 days in but with the unhealthy food gone from my house and a refusal to bring it back in (this is how i quit smoking) You will get to a better place. When the cravings would hit, I would log on to MFP and read the success stories or read my book Women, Food and God or get out of the house. I eat all meals at the table including snacks ( I'd down a bag of pretzels watching TV and not realize it.)
Mindful eating. It's a journey my friend many here have made and understand. You are not alone. Stay with us
