Are you talking about the Shape-Ups?

I own a pair and I wear them EVERY single time I go somewhere and I know I'll be walking/standing for a while. I've only had them for a little over a week but let me tell you, these things work!

My calves, thighs, glutes and abs get sore so much faster when I walk with them. They really do make you work harder when you walk. I guess it would be kind of like constantly walking on a spongey surface - you know how you have to push a little bit harder to walk on sand or something? It's kind of like that.

My HRM says that my heart rate is a little bit higher when I wear them, too, which I think is a good sign.

And a bonus - they're VERY comfortable. Usually I get some joint soreness when I'm walking for more than an hour or so but with these I feel great through my whole day.

    Hope this helps you.

I've been wondering about these too. I'd kind of like to get a black pair to wear everyday, but since I work in an office they couldn't look too much like running shoes.

I wonder if they are annoying to walk in and if they can result in back problems ...

I don't know about back problems but the walking style can be a little bit to get used to at first. Actually, because of the way they're designed they might actually relieve back problems if that's something you experience with regular shoes.

They do have some more dressy looking styles that I think would be office appropriate.

I've been dying to get a pair of Easy Tones, but I spoke to a sales associate at ****'s Sporting Goods last night, who said that more people like the Shape Ups by Sketchers better. She knows a few people who own both kinds and they've said that the Easy Tones only work the lower body, while the Shape Ups work the entire body. I tried on a pair of the Easy Tones last night and thought they were super comfy, but I'm not sure how they'd be walking around in them for more than a few minutes.
