another newbie

Hi I'm new too.
I have a lot of weight to lose, because I struggle to eat healthily and not binge-eat. As I haven't had much success with the 'eat less' side of things, for now I'm concentrating on 'do more' aspect. I've started doing the Couch to 5K running programme and am up to week 5, starting to hate it a bit less now! Planning to do a 5K in October & a 10K in January. My OtherHalf has been brilliant, he's doing C25k with me and we're both trying to cook healthier meals.

I'm using MFP to record my food. So far, since starting to try & get healthier a few weeks ago, I've managed to eat reasonably healthily & avoid binges. I'm not kidding myself however, I've been down this path many times before & know this is the honeymoon period and things will get tough, and there will probably be binges. Workwise things have been easy recently and I know they'll get tough again soon.

So I'm buckling up for a long & bumpy ride!

  • Good for you on starting the running. Do this right and it won't be bad. Work in those unhealthy food choices, at some point you will learn to control them.
Add me as a friend if you like, friendly support and motivation will go a long way on this journey.

A few years ago I stopped smoking, with the help of an online community. Here's hoping this one will help me with the WL

sounds like you are on the right track. Keep up the good work and once you really get into the running (although I cannot do it) I understand you will absolutely miss it when you cannot run for any reason at all.
