Has anyone done a cereal diet like the special k one where you eat cereal for breakfast and lunch and have a normal dinner?
Did it work?how long did you do it for and di you put everything back on as soon as you stopped?
Thinking of doing one for 2 weeks but worried ill put everything back on straight after.

No. I don't think I could eat that much cereal.0

i suppose it works because of the lower calories you'd be eating (obviously a 200 calorie lunch is less calories than a 600 calorie lunch). there's nothing inherently weight loss inducing about special k. you could probably do this same think with fruit loops and get the same results weight loss wise0

Sounds REAL smart. Can you see yourself eating cereal for he next....50 years?0

I would have a couple of concerns with this, among the following:
- you are not learning good eating habits
- you would probably have a hard time hitting your macronutrients let alone your micronutrients.
However, unless you eat over maintenance after the 2 weeks are up, there is no reason you will put the weight back.
Why not just eat a balanced diet that will give you a calorie deficit?0 -
I recommend a balanced diet and exercise plan that you can stick to for 2 years not 2 weeks.,0

It would work if you could stick to it.
Here's what I would do: stick to my one bowl for breakfast. Inhale 3-5 servings at lunch because I'm hungry. (Cereal makes me ravenous.) Add in a bunch of other food to overcompensate.
If you want to try a low calorie plan for a few days, eat the same number of calories in more filling food with a variety of nutrients. If you must do it, at least use Fiber One or something.
BTW: Fiber One is awesome on fresh fruit like strawberries or apples (with cinnamon and microwaved.)0 -
My idea of a healthy diet includes less processed carbs, not more. But the real yardstick here should be: do you feel full after eating 3/4 c cereal with some skim milk? I'd be starving all day until dinner.0

You could eat the special K for breakfast, but there are so many other low cal lunch's you could make that would have the same amount of calories.
I wouldn't suggest for you to get into a double breakfast habit......just my 2 cents.0 -
I eat my oats twice a day. It works well for losing weight (when in cal deficit) and putting on weight (when in cal surplus). Hope that helps.0
