I've been training for a 5K and started having pain in my heal this week. I decided not to run the race this morning. I'm pretty sure I need to rest it for a week, but I'm freakin out. Exercise has played such an important part in my weight loss journey. It also has become a form of therapy for me. I'm so concerned that I will not lose this week or I will have a mental breakdown(hahaha).

So here's my question: Have any of you been successful at losing weight without exercising?

Of course. Exercise is not needed to lose weight, at all. It's all about the diet.

Yes, I have had two injuries so far. I had runner's knee and tendinitis in my foot.
I can't say I stopped, though. I adapted and did the things I could do. I had a lower body injury both times, so I focused on upper body. With the tendinitis, I just toughed it out and worked out anyways.
If you've ever done 30DS, you've heard Jillian talk about punches and how effective they are at getting your heart rate up when you have a lower body injury.
I hope that you heal quickly!

It is all about the calories. If you cannot burn calories, then you need to consume less of them. I suspect, however, that you can burn calories, even though you may be benched from running for now. Heck, you could lay on the floor and wildly kick your legs until you're too tired to continue. Not very interesting, but can be done. ;)
Don't worry too much. Just keep doing what you CAN do. Best of luck! And a speedy recovery!!!

I've been through several injuries on my recent journey, which included training for a 5k. Take as much time as you need to heal. When I can't run I walk. When I can't walk I rest (and consider medical attention). Good luck!
