Eating protein before or after the workout?

What is best practice to build muscle? Eat lots of protein before the workout or do the workout and then eat lots of protein? Does it make a difference?

    Don't worry about protein timing. It makes almost zero real world difference. Just hit your daily goals and leave the timing to personal preference.

    I usually drink my protein drink after. But like what the other three men said before me, it actually makes no difference. I just do so as it is a better after-workout alternative than whatever I might be craving after lol. Also, my protein shake is tasty, so I treat it as a reward after my workout.
