Including regular day activities as exercise?

I'm coming to the conclusion that I would rather change my settings as someone with a more active job to accommodate the regular dog walks I do. I walk about 1.5hrs-2hrs a day with my dog and logging that is getting tedious.
I'm also skeptical that MFPs calorie counter for exercise is accurate.
I'm thinking that if I do this, then anything extra would be the "real" exercise that I do to lose weight.

give it a try. All of the numbers we use are estimates anyways, so doing some trial and error tests are what we should all be doing to make sure we are on the right path.
If you can get a fitbit or similar, it gives a great estimate of how active you are in general during the day. Also, if you have an android phone, I just found Google Tracks that has some potential. I haven't played with it much yet, but it looks interesting. Still, something like a fitbit, motoactv, bodybug, or whatever else you might find is great. I have both a fitbit and motoactv and wear the fitbit daily. I use the motoactv for HRM stuff.0 -

I think it's a good idea.0 -
So... what do you guys think. If I'm walking the 90-120min a day does that count as moderate or active?0

if you do it every day, then increasing activity level make perfect sense
I walk 1h 5 times a week - to work, but not every day, so I log in order not to overeat on weekends.
But if I walked everyday, I would set my profile as lightly active0 -

I would look at my diary for the past 2-3 weeks and see exactly how many calories you have burned walking the dog and average it. Increase your activity level until you gain about that many calories. That is going to be about the most accurate way to increase it.0 -
