under calorie allowance

At weekends I don't have a problem with being under allowance but in the week i'm generally under by around 200 calories. Is this bad? And should I build it up to exactly 1200 calories?

Depends on if you are working out or not. If you are working out, I think 1200 calories a day (and being under) is WAY too low. You aren't giving your body the nutrients it needs. Now, if you aren't working out and just trying to eat better, I'd say staying at 1200 or fairly close to it, is fine.
At 25, 5'4" 135 pounds currently, with a sedentary lifestyle, meaning I sit at a desk all day at work for 7 hours, I burn 1200 calories a day if I just sat around doing nothing. Which says to me, if I'm going and working out 3-5 times a week, I need to be eating more than 1200 calories so I upped mine to 1450 and stay below that.0 -
1200 is very low...you're on MFP default minimum--it won't tell you to eat less. You need to eat more, and eat your exercize calories too. Slow and steady is healthy, sustainable, and actually---easier.0

I would really make an effort to NOT go under the 1200. It might happen occasionally but I would try to not let it be regular. Add a Clif bar in at some snack and that's an easy 200 calories added.0

I think that 1200 cal is low. It killed my metabolism a few weeks ago. However there are people who do great with 1200. So it depends on yourself and how you feel. But please don't go under 1200. x0

Yeah, it's really all what works for you. No one is the exact same, but 1200 calories is probably the lowest of calories anyone should be eating daily, especially with adding working out in there too. I found when I upped my calories, I had more energy, felt better and the weight came off where as at 1200 it wasn't moving.0
