Exercising too hard?

Okay, now that I have your attention.

No, I don't think I'm exercising too hard, however... I've been doing well over my "initial" goal back in June of 5 workouts a week. I'm burning roughly 1200 calories a week on average... usually I'm burning roughly 2000 calories or more a week, working out 6 or 7 times a week, always a half hour minimum. I do heavy lifting 3x a week, cardio is usually interval jogging, biking, and/or swimming.

Here's the thing. I talked in a later post about plateauing; I lost about a pound and maybe 1 inch total the entire month of August. Yeah, my clothes fit better, yeah the scale means little... but I DO like my measurements to show me something's changing! I decided to up my calories this week to roughly 1488, or my BMR.

Now, I was having a hard time netting 1200 before (something I'm also wondering if it had to do with the not quite plateau); if I'm trying to up my overall calories, should I perhaps try cutting back on the exercise? I'm not a big eater, and i'm wondering if I was pushing too hard without enough fuel.

Thoughts?

Depending on how your calculating your calorie burn and how accurate of a reading your getting.. I would probably say your eating too little, if your having a hard time netting 1200 calories and your BMR is 1488, you should be trying to net that at the least... You seem to be pretty active and alot of ways to break a plateau is change, change your calorie goal (in this case i would suggest eating more) try eating different foods, try different workout routine, anyone of these can help you break your stalled progress... I would probably not add more exercise, maybe take a week workout break.
