408 cal lasagna recipe with pic
A lasagna recipe for beginners. A bit time consuming, I know, but totally worth it. Makes 6 big portions, or 8 smaller ones.
Start of with one big onion, finely shopped in a big frying pan(cast iron pot preferable), then add 250g(aprox ½ pound) of minced beef and fry on medium/high heat. Stir often to prevent lumps from forming. When the beef is cocked, lower heat to a slow simmer and add 2.5 dl(1 cup) of crouched tomatoes. Optional: add 1 finely grated carrot, garlic, spinach, some finely chopped cabbage and sriracha sauce . Season with salt, pepper and what ever other spices you like. Taste, and add more spices.
In a separate pot add 1 teaspoon of butter, 5 dl(2 cups) of milk, 2 tablespoons of sieved flour and a little salt. Let it come to a boil and then simmer for a minimum of 3 minutes, stir constantly so the bottom does not burn. Remove from heat and add 2 dl (6 oz) of cheese and stir until the cheese has melted.
In a 9x13” baking dish, pour in some of the milk sauce, just enough to cover the bottom, and add lasagna plates on top, then cover the plates with more sauce. Gently spoon over a layer of the minced beef. Cover that with lasagna plates and cover that with sauce. Repeat until you run out of beef or until you reach ¾ of the way up to the edge of the baking dish. Sprinkle over ½ dl (2 oz) of grated cheese. Place in a preheated oven 200 degrees Celsius, 392 F. Bake for 30-40 minutes. To prevent the top from burning, you can place a folded sheet of baking paper over the dish. When finished, remove from oven and for the best result let it rest for about 10 minutes before digging in.
This can be kept in the fridge for up to one week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. The same goes for any leftover beef.
One serving contains 408 calories, 28g carbs, 21g fat, 25g protein. (Fresh veggies on pic not included.) You can lower the cal by using leaner beef or ground turkey beef, and by using a low fat cheese. Remember, if you do not use the ingredients that are optional you will get a different nutrition value.
Ingredients:
250g (~1/2 pound) of minced beef 15% fat
1 onion
2.5 dl(1 cup) of crouched tomato
1 carrot
2.5dl(1 cup) of chopped cabbage
1 ¼ dl(½ cup) of frozen spinach
4 cloves of garlic
4 tablespoons of sriracha sauce
spices(I used salt, pepper, juniper berries, thyme, paprica, spanish pepper, coriander, marjoram and sage)
1 teaspoon of butter
5 dl (2 cups) of milk 1.5% fat
2 tablespoons of wheat flour
2.5 dl(8 oz) of edam cheese
salt
8 Lasagna plates
I really hope you give it a try, if you do, you will not regret it. This is the first time I've posted a recipe, please give me any and all tips on how to improve my recipe sharing skills. Also, I'm sorry about any spelling errors
