Satiety

Since last night, I've not been feeling sated with my meals... weird, but it means I keep looking for something else to eat. Dinner last night was chicken fajitas (in a crock pot, so less fat - yum!), with plenty of veggies, even had one in a lettuce wrap. Yet, it didn't seem to last. Had a protein shake and oatmeal bar so far today... still feeling the need to eat. I've been increasing my water, but still looking to feel sated.
Help!? It's lunchtime and I feel the need to graze on whatever comes into my view.

protein protein protein.
If I'm still feeling hungry and I know I "shouldn't " be, I 1)chew gum 2)drink a diet soda. Lemon or lime in my water helps too.
But in general, my method for not getting hungry is protein in every meal, ALWAYS a morning snack, and I put my bigger meals and breakfast at lunch.0 -
It would be better if you open your diary. But the usual culprits are:
low calories
low protein
low fiber0 -

Yes, lots and lots of protein. I get over 250g some days. I'm never ever hungry. I'm still stuffed from lunch 3 hours ago. Almost uncomfortably so.0 -

So chicken fajitas and a PROTEIN shake don't have any protein?
Sounds like you're getting your protein and some fiber. Those are generally the things that help you stay fuller longer.
Likely it comes down to how much food you're eating - gross vs. net0 -
This happens to me inexplicably every month, but I found out its due to TOM and the increased burn your body goes thru to make the process happen...
Make sure you get enough protein thru the day, with every meal, and have the right kinds of snacks handy...
And lots of water!0 -

Thanks for noticing that I shared my protein intake - I know that's the first step, but it doesn't seem to be kicking in the last couple days. Caloric intake is not usually a problem for me so perhaps I need to look at fiber and more water.
Thanks to all for the suggestions - I knew the smart people on MFP would have some ideas for me!0 -
Oh and boredom, maybe? Sometimes I get bored at work (mostly I'm just itching to move) and I get "hungry".0
