Starting weight lifting

Im planning on starting weight lifting in a couple weeks and i dont know where to start. Any suggestions would be greatly apricated

if your goal is generic muscle building, just pick a plan from here:

my personal input would be to focus on free weights pretty much exclusively, no machines. and whenever possible, use dumbbells instead of barbells, because then you'll be developing a nice symmetrical body. usually with a barbell, a stronger side takes over and therefore is trained harder, but of course sometimes you just have to use a barbell for an exercise.
and compound movements (more than one joint in a motion) use more muscles, so that's great for beginners.0 -
Check this. Buy and read the book. Run the Allpro's routine for at least 10 cycles.
