Such a thing as too much water?

Long before I started on MFP, I only drank milk and water. I hate carbonation, I hate flavored drinks. Ect, Ect. We haven't had milk in the house so far during these 16 days since we've started back on here (my boyfriend and I), until today when we were able to pick some up. I've been drinking A LOT of water, so I can easily meet the recommended 8 cups a day. My intake is usually anywhere from 14-20 cups a day.
Is this too much? I ask because this morning when I got on my fancy-schmancy plans-your-diet-for-you scale, (literally plans it; how many calories you should eat, B.M.I, water percentage, ect) it said my water percentage was at 21.1% when it used to be about 17%. I know nothing about water percentage or what it should be, so I turn to you guys.

You're fine.
Some people will immediately scream "water intoxication" or "hyponatremia", when anyone posts they drink 1+ gallons of water per day, and in extremely rare circumstances, they are right. But for the other 99.0% of the population who drink tons of water each day, you will be fine as long as you keep eating throughout the day so you can replenish sodium and other minerals.
Drink as much as you want. Just don't do anything foolish like trying to down a gallon or more at one time without eating.0 -
You're fine. Too much water means ingesting a large amount at a single time. Just don't get into any gallon chugging contests :-)0

^^^this. Water intoxification does exist however I can't imagine any basically healthy human being able to actually guzzle enough to cause it. the last case I heard of was a girl who took ecstasy and went on a water binge. As long as you don't have a history of congestive heart failure or ecstasy use, I think you're fine. You're fine.
