So I weighed 116 this morning!!! BUT I am starting to tone up!!! It feels like it takes forever becuase I am ready to have a flat belly. I know it takes awhile. Anyone else feels like this. I know by april I will be fine. Its just frustrating some days.

  • I could only dream to weigh 116. I currently weigh 135lbs. I am even training for a half marathon. I understand your frustration. It's almost like you have to work your butt off to just lose a pound or two. Keep your confidence up and be strong and you will accomplish your goal.

i've only been weight training for a week so i haven't noticed anything yet. but i have noticed that i still seem to have so much more to lose! i've been varying degrees of overweight my whole life, and 152 is the least i've ever weighed. a doctor told me years ago that I should weigh about 147 for my height (i started this current weight loss journey at 170).

anyway, today i weighed in at 154 which is awesome, i'm only 7 pounds from my goal. but my body still doesn't look like i want it to. i look in the mirror and to me, i still look the same, and i still see so many places where i could be smaller. i think my goal might be lower than 147. maybe 147 is just a less risky weight (my BMI was too high before, now it's still on the high end of normal).

I'm only 5'7", i wonder what a good goal weight is....
  • This is my opinion, so feel free to take it or leave it....BUT, your goal should be "fat" loss, not "weight" loss. Anyone can lose "scale weight", which includes, fat, water, AND muscle. Your goal should be to INCREASE muscle, which DECREASES body fat % by totally revving your metabolism! The number on the scale does not truly reflect what is INSIDE your body. If you have a lot of muscle you WILL weigh more, BUT your body is literally shaped differently, your clothes fit much better, and what you see in the mirror LOOKS different than if your body mainly consists of fat tissue (which, btw, burns nothing). You can weigh 116 lbs. and still be "skinny-fat"--completely out of shape with no real muscle or definition. Muscle is denser and weighs more than fat, but also takes up less space! I speak from experience on this. I started weight training in July and have lost 18 of the 30 lbs. I originally wanted to lose, but my body is completely different now--my arms and legs have definition, and I've probably GAINED 5 or more lbs. in muscle, but my body fat % has gone from over 35% to below 25%!! (I need to measure again to know where exactly I am now...) I get CONSTANT compliments at the gym and from friends and family on how good I look, and I haven't even finished yet! I'm just focusing now on muscle definition, which requires a little more fat loss, and then I'm into maintenance mode. For motivation, go to bodybuilding.com and look at the transformations....you will be amazed at what you see. Good luck....I wish you all the best!!

My problem is that I look in the mirror and think I look nice. I put on my jeans and think they're fitting just a little bit better. But then when someone takes a picture of me I can see how thick I really am. Not saying I don't look nice or pretty, just so much bigger than I thought I would be at this point

That may be but you will get there. You are supposed to look in the mirror and look at yourself thin. Do let that discourage you prob in a couple of months you will think differently. Just hang in there. I got my pic taken in august and realized how much bigger I was and a few months I look a lot smaller. Don't let that discourage you. One day you will wake up and see the results and it takes a little while. If you are every doubting anything just email me nad I will get your spirits back up!!!
