sweat bands

I have one of those sweat bands that go around your waist. When I use it, I do sweat around my waist area A LOT! But my question is, does that really help when it comes to losing weight or inches around that area? :ohwell:

IMO? No they may make your area sweat more because the rubbery fabric keeps the heat "locked" in that area , but that does not mean you are burning any extra calories! I am menopausal and I bust HUGE sweats but that does not mean I am burning more fat! I only wished! Remember though, the more you sweat the more water you should drink to replace and stay balanced! best wished and whatever you do, do NOT quit exercising!!!!0

It's like exercising in a rain coat. You will lose water weight and if you have a dress to fit into that night your waist might be smaller, but only until you drink back the water weight. You body WILL burn more calories if it is warmer, but this is done through cardio level or taking a hot yoga class (which will burn more cals than a "cool" class of the same intensity). You actually may be sabotaging your workout by losing too much water and not staying hydrated - which will make you weaker and burn less. Also, the more dehydrated you are the less the toxins are being flushed out of your muscles / body and if you build up lactic acid from working out but are not hydrated enough to flush it out you may be sore the next day from your workout.0

From all the research I have seen the answer is NO. Your body is going drop weight all over and in some cases not where you want it. My personal feeling is you don't need the sweat band. Just exercise hard and long enough that the sweat starts dripping. What you can do to help make the problem areas look better is tone them. Don't forget to work with weights they increase the body motabilism.
Good luck on reaching your goals0 -
Thanks guys! I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something pointless or doing more harm than good with this.
