I would love to see all of your lower half (esp. tummy & thighs) before after pics. I am a pear shaped woman & It will keep me motivated.
Also share with us what exercises you did to get into the shape.
Thanks.
Edit: I am short, a 5 2". So that makes it look even worse.

Bump, I am also cursed with the pear shape and my butt and tummy are being stubborn, and are all squishy, my upper back is the only toned part of me!:explode:0

I don't think the pear shape is a curse, as people are more apt to notice my small waist than my gargantuan hips.
That's what I tell myself, anyway.
For me it's definitely the outer thigh that never goes away, no matter how much I lose.0 -

I'm a pear, this was me once upon a time, before pregnancy.
Still counts though right?
By the way, I know I'm still quite podgy there. lol.

I have pictures...but I have no idea how to upload them....with your help I will show you some results I've had0 -
i don't have pics :ohwell:
buuuut this is probably because I was never HUGE.... just went through all the stages (most often resting in fluffy) and really belieed that 'this was just the size I am'
About two years ago, I got fed up, and 1st started working out. Simple cardio, 30 min. each and every morning. At 1st i couldn't get ten minutes into my Wii Active Fitness Trainer program, but eventually I moved up to 45 min. each morning!
After 6 months or so I cut back on drinking, and another 6 months in I started to focus on nutrition!
Nutrition is def what gets me, but over the last 5-6 months I have been cycling Insanity, and Insanity Asylum, and while my overeating habit has not allowed for any further weightloss over the last bit, the difference in my butt and thighs is UNBELIEVABLE! As all of us pear shapped girls know, toning arms and back is childsplay-- but after just thinking that my lumpy booty would never change, my hubby made a comment about a month back that my butt looked different (he's a smart guy and wanted to say better but didn't haha) and after further examination, I see that A LOT of my cellulite that I thought was a lifelong friend was GONE. I still have some work to do-- but I honestly thought that after a year, year and a half of working hard, and still seeing it, it was here to stay, and I want you all to know that it IS NOT!!! Keep workin. Never give up!! If you keep doing your best you will see results. Sometimes it takes years, but the work will pay off!0 -

That's a good shape you have there.0 -
My thighs & hips are especially huge. I am confident that I can lose weight from the rest of the body but not the thighs & hips. The only time, I found a little light (as I put it.. ) passing between my thighs was when I used to do an hour of elliptical at the gym. But now since we have shifted & there is no gym close by, I go for brisk walks. Hm.. tiny gap between my thighs is now gone.0

First of all, let me just say that I don't drink, but I kind of wish I did. It would be a lot easier to post these if I were drunk. I've never posted pictures of my lower body on MFP or anywhere else, so it's a bit freaky. The first pic is from January when I weighed 163 lbs. The second pic is from today at 136 lbs. I don't consider it an "after" pic though, because I feel like I've just gotten started. Oh, and if I'd had ANY idea I might have ever shared the "before" pic with anyone, I would've dressed better and at least stood up straight. lol :ohwell:

Yes, huge transformation. Good work.0 -
I found a great exercise with bands. Stand on the band, bend you knees, cross the band between your legs, hold on to the handles, shoulders back, back straight, and take a big step to the left and then to right (10-12 to each side). Keep your knees bend the whole time. You can increase the stepping speed over time. You will feel the burn...
You can do some side squats with light weights as well. I like Flavia del Monte on youtube. You type in which bodypart you want to work on and you have several to chose from.0 -
oh wow....thats great...good for you...0

Thisismytime? DANG!!!!
I'm 5'5 and 40 years old. I was very pearish at my high weight, less pearish now. I was about 150-something in the first photo, but avoiding the scale. I was 160 when I started here in December 2010 and a little bit bigger than that because I was cursing that my jeans "shrunk in the wash."
Now, I'm 134-ish.
For exercise, I started with running couch to 5k and doing EA Sports Active 2 on the Playstation with 5# dumbbells and body weight exercises. A little over a year ago, I switched to strength training with heavy weights. I still run 3x a week.
At about 20 pounds lost, 30 pounds lost, then some weight gained after strength training:
