If the macros are 40-30-30 and you have met all your macro goals, you should be close to your calorie goals. Keep in mind that fiber and sugar alcohols don't count towards net carbs. At 1552 cals, a 40-30-30 macro diet should be 155 g net carbs (meaning like 180 g carbs if you get in your 25 g fiber), 116 g protein, and 52 g fat....0

Anything you want. Once you've covered your protein and fat minimums, fill in the rest however you like. :drinker:0

It's terrible advice, I know, but when I need calories, and my macros are maxed, I have a couple shots of vodka. Yes I realize there is no nutrition content, and alcohol is bad, yada yada. But I'm kinda OCD about those little red and green numbers,0

If you truely hit your macros, you won't have calories left over.0 -

I'm having my vodka as I read this and it's confusing me Pu .
Okay... so you're talking about when 1 macro is maxed out and the others are not? Well you just eat that macro. Don't eat mixed foods.
For example if you're low on protein, eat lean protein sources
tuna
chicken breast
lean fishes
Low on carbs?
potato
pasta
oatmeal
low on fats?
olive oil
40:30:30 means 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fats.
You have to options if you maxed out on one or 2 macro nutrients. You can not stick to the ratio. Or increase your calories to hit that ratio.
If your diary goal is 1,200 at 40:30:30 and you're over on fats by 10grams. This would be 50g of fat when you're supposed to have 40g.
So you have 50g of fat which is 450 calories of fat. You use basic algebera
x * .30 = 450
This will give you total calories, x = 1500. 30% of 1,500 = 450 calories aka 50g of fat. Then you fill in the rest with above listed foods.
Now my question to you is, is it really that important to hit your macros exactly? NOPE. so stop worrying about it, just eat, be happy and call it a day.0
