I used this site last year and lost 30lbs. I got pregnant by surprise and took a break from here and now I am back and ready to tackle the 75lbs I hope to lose.
I am however exclusively breastfeeding my daughter (4 weeks on Wednesday) and not sure how that effects the number of calories I need.
Any nursing mama's here ?

Ad it to your exercise as exercise. it counts as about 400 to 500 calories a day. So your body burns almost 500 calories a day just breast feeding! I ad it to exercise & it ups your calorie intake to 1700 if its set at 1200. My lil one is 2 months old.. congrats on the baby & EBF.0

yeah you will need to eat extra calories. Trust me. I just had a little one four months ago and my milk dried up most likely from not eatin enough calories. But yes, I believe you can add it to your calories burned. Its about the equivelant of 30 minutes of moderate aerobic workout if you nurse every three hours, or 8 times a day. So yeah anywhere from 300 to 500 calories extra. But be careful about it though. Take it from me. Don't let your milk dry out. And don't stress out about your weight loss while you are breast feeding either. Take care of your ity bity one.0

Thank you ladies I am going to use MFP to keep myself in line instead of with the intent of losing weight right now since she is only 5 weeks old. Hopefully exercise and nursing while watching my intake will start the weightloss and I can get a good supply that is solid before I start trying to cut back :):)0

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. When your baby eats, you need to be drinking. Fluids, fluids, fluids! La Leche League may have some tips for weight loss and successful nursing. Check them out. Keep up the good work!0
