For those who have lost a lot of weight and had joint pain before hand, did your joint pain hurt less after you lost the weight? I just started a temp job and I am standing 8 hours a day with no breaks. My knees and ankles are constantly sore and swollen since I started this. I am hoping that once I lose weight, my joints will hurt.

My knees have already improved with just a little weight loss and increased exercise. The first few days were tough and my joints were sore but as my muscles have built up, it's getting better every day0

Note: I have been walking almost every day for over a month. I am just hoping things stop hurting sometime in the future.0

I started at approximately the same weight you did. I used to have a job where I was on my feet all day. After a couple weeks, my knees and ankles stopped hurting so much and were not as swollen. Can't answer if it wll get even better as you lose weight cause I don't have that job anymore but I would guess it will get better.0

Two years ago I lost a job because of my knee problems. I now can walk normal and even walk stairs normal. So for me the pain went away.0

It's so much better and I'm only halfway to goal. Resistance training has helped tremendously as well. Conditioning and strengthening the muscles around my knees, back and neck combined with fat loss has been a lifesaver. It absolutely does get better.0

Usually joint pain gets better with weight loss. I would suggest compression socks to help with swelling and when you get off your feet elevate above your heart.0 -
84.5 pounds lighter and my joint pain has decreased greatly.0

Ok sorry to be the voice of doubt.... but I started this journey with grade 3 osteoarthritis in both knees and torn meniscus in both knees and a torn ACL in my right knee.. I have spent the last 38 months losing 311 lbs. and even though I am able to stand and walk which I could not before at 560 lbs. My knees are far worse now than they was back then. I will be getting knee replacements in the spring after I recover from a body lift surgery in a couple weeks. I think this will ultimately come down to an individual by individual basis...
