So, after reading multiple posts on the subject I decided to calculate my BRM and my TDEE. Both numbers seemed extremely high, so i cross referenced them with another site and got very similar results.
BRM: approx 1800
TDEE: approx 2700
I know I'm over weight and have a fairly physically demanding job, but those seem really high to eat between and still continue stead weight loss. Right now I eat about 1500 calories a day - give or take. Advice?

dang math!!! annoyin/confusing ish huh???
well my bmr (when i started mfp was almost 2,000! and i started at 1200 cals a day .. and did that for a month.. then upped it to 1380 ( 1 1/2 #'s awk) now upped it a bit more at 1480 .. i lost 15#'s first 6wks.. and i havent weighed in a wk and half so not sure where im at now.. but it just seemed (it was) too low.. BUT i ALWAYS ate like ALL my exercise cals back ! (when doing the 1200) and i workout a lot.. burn min 400 cals a day and normally 600-800... now with the 1480 a day.. im trying to eat half my cals back...... so your 1500 should be fine..i would think..0 -

that's not that high.. you're young and you're overweight.
i'm 41 and still have 30 pounds to go and currently my BMR is around 1800, TDEE is anywhere from 2500 on non workout days - 3000 (or more) on workout days.
dont worry about what other people's BMR and TDEE is, find what works for you and your body and dont worry about making the same plan fit if it doesnt fit. for instance when i first started MFP, i did like they suggest and dropped my cals to 1200 + exercise calories and that was simply not enough calories for me.
keep in mind that equations are just equations and you might not fit that formula exactly0 -

One of the few advantages of being overweight is a high TDEE. You can consume nearly 3000 calories a day and still not put on weight!
So at 2700 a day you have 18900 a week to play with
If you want to lose 2 lbs a week then take 7000 calories off which leaves you with 11900 for the week - or 1700 per day0 -
