Hello from Iceland!
My name is Brandi and I just turned 30 years old on July 3rd. I have been residing here in Iceland for close to 8 years now and am originally from Massachusetts.
I have been struggling on and off with weight issues since shortly before my oldest daughter was born in 2001... Since then I have had a yo- yo weight issue and two more children to top it off!
I have been having quite the issue with getting myself motivated and sticking to any type of routine and diet.
When I first signed up for myfitnesspal way back when I did post a blog but never an introduction thread. Maybe I was ashamed of myself.
Here is the link to my blog post:

Well since then (which apparently was 20 months ago) I have bounced with my weight between 113kg and 116kg and have now currently lost a bit of weight bringing me down to 107.3 currently . I still have a long road a head of me. With my height at 5'3 (160 cm). My BMI apparently falls into "obese" and I still need to do something about it! My dream goal is getting myself down to about 54 kilos!
Since my blog I also have brought myself to a doctor for a thorough health check- blood tests and urine tests looking for anything that could possibly cause my weight issues and other health concerns and it only came back with a number off in my liver or something (he didn't use exact terms or I would tell you!) and he wasn't concerned at the moment but said that we will look into it later. He told me to start losing weight as I had the green light and am healthy!
I am still very lost, very confused, and very alone.
I've been doing much better with the snack control and even drinking more water but still.....
I need help with dieting (it's very difficult here in Iceland when you have lower income due to prices and honestly I have seen very little "diets" per say and I know if I was living back home I would have an easier time), motivation and support. I hope to make some friends on here and hope to gain some support, motivation and the most needed advice.
I feel as though I am running around like a headless chicken (sorry for the metaphor but yeah).
P.S.- I am currently participating in the 5x50 Challenge (if anyone heard of that!) and today was my first day doing a 5km walk! Let's hope this is a good start to a long term thing!
Thanks for reading.. Sorry I rambled on (I still could keep going haha) and hope to see some posts in the near future!

Hello from Massachusetts! You have taken the first steps toward doing this, and you can do it. I didn't feel like I had a lot of support until I started here and I have found some great and inspiring people. Add me as a friend if you would like and together we can all do this!0
