With all the heaviness of today, I thought I would bring up a topic that will probably get a little back lash lol but it's all good and in fun:

SO...I am a HUGE football fan, I watch ALL games. As I am watching Monday night football last night, I rush to pause the game in my room to watch the half time report to get caught up on stats....Half time starts and a woman starts rumbling about football.
I am sorry, i am ALL for equal rights EXCEPT football lol. Not only did she talk too fast, she had no personal input as would a retired player or coach and to make it worse...THERE WERE NO GAME HIGHLIGHTS!!! There was a bit put to music...no stats on the Sunday games...nothing!! Am I the only one that feels that woman should NOT be reporting from the sidelines, locker rooms and half time reports???? Can we leave this to retired players and coaches

remember this is under chit chat and fun and not a bash session...thanks

I am a woman, and a HUGE football fan...and still I have to agree with you. I'm not saying a woman couldn't be good at the reporting, just that I have yet to see one that is.

Agreed. I'm a huge football fan and a woman and I HATE having female reporters on the sidelines. None of them sound like they have any idea what they're talking about, just that they're reading off a teleprompter. Like with the guys, you'll get a lot of back story and their personal knowledge on the subject. You just don't get that with the ladies. I am not a fan. At all.

I'm not sure exactly when this happened as there were 2 Monday night games, but there are 2 things.

    1) the no game highlights - that was probably not any decision made by the woman reporter. That was probably a program director.

    2) The half time person in the studio is usually Chris Berman (who did booth work for the late game and was unavailable) but he has no coaching or playing experience either.

So, was it the woman? was it that she had no experience?

Personally, I think there are so many games televised (that is to say, all games) that the booths, in general, are watered down and completely lack luster and even some former players or coaches awful. To me, I really couldn't care less who is doing the game because I don't find the announcers remotely important to my viewing experience. I expect them to be bad, and if they are good, I am pleasantly surprised. But that doesn't happen all that often.

I'm sure she didnt choose not to do highlights too. It was just that everything changed. not to say that all men are goog at it either, but they have more of a relaxed , open discussion and don't totally read from a teleprompter. God bless her but she was SO misplaced. I love MNF halftime to get caught up on the games i have missed. Even with Sunday ticket you can't watch EVERYTHING lol. I was watching the Chargers / Raiders game on ESPN. Didnt change my experience of the game...cuz it's FOOTBALL lol but i was TOTALLY disappointed in the half time show overall
