What a sad and emotional day for us all as we reflect on the events on this day and the many days after trying to understand what had just happened to our country. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims......we will never FORGET.
I was just getting into work. I was a nurse at an Oncology clinic and was just turning all the TV's on in the chemotherapy rooms when I saw what had just happened and I was in utter shock and and just couldn't believe what I was witnessing. There are no words that I can even express how or what I was feeling and I can not even begin to imagine what people were going through watching it there or that had loved ones involved. Was a very traumatic day for this country.
As I watched those towers crumble, I saw strangers helping each other. Strangers consoling one another. I heard stories of men and women showing up in New York after driving through the night from different places throughout the US to help aid in the search and recovery of those still missing. Stories of heroes helping those who could not help themselves. I witnessed the AMERICAN SPIRIT rise from those ashes. It is strong and does not crumble. It stands tall and proud. It reaches out a hand to fellow Americans in their time of need.
We got sucker punched by cowards that day. Did those cowards break our American spirit? NO! They made it STRONGER!
My love and respect go out to all my fellow AMERICANS today!! God bless AMERICA and PEACE with us all!!!
