tracking cals burned at gym with HRM?

I know I have read that it's not accurate to use a HRM at the gym but wanted to ask your opinions as I have no clue how to calculate weight training.
I have been going for a run and going straight into weights afterwards and can even get my heart rate back up to the 130's while lifting, so I assume that the HRM is calculating some or most of my efforts, right? I was thinking I may be under with the HRM at the gym but want to know for sure.
Anyone able to shed some light on it for me?
Thanks!!

HRMs are set up to calculate aerobic activity. Strength training is anaerobic (sans-oxygen) so your heart rate isn't directly related to calories burned. Calories burned depends on the intensity, weight, and rest periods. For sure it does burn calories, especially large heavy movements, but personally I don't log calories burned during strength training. Just adjust you calories as needed according to if you're wanting to build muscle or cut fat.0
