New and need help with eating enough due to my exercise

Hi, I am new here and enjoy working out, but am still having trouble getting my food intake in the correct amount. I set a goal number of calories that is healthy for me and would lead to a weight loss of 2 lbs per week. But because I get so much exercise, this site suggests I need to eat more. It seems like if I increase my food to equal the calories I burn from exercise, that defeats the purpose of exercising to burn calories. I am very interested in how to eat enough to keep my metabolism going, but still meet my weight loss goals. I look forward to reading everyone's suggestions!
