People are bumping the post for viewing later, because they can see a link to the post in their home page. Hope that helps :)

Bump means Bring Up My Post...been used in forums for years to bring the post to the top of the "pile" so to speak. When you start a topic and no one is responding or posting to your thread or you want to re-vitalize your post if it's gotten buried, you bump your post to bring back to the top of the pile. When other people bump a post, its usually to add it to their "My Topics" list so they can read it later or refer back to the information later.

Bump stands for Bring Up My Post.
To bump a post for reviewing later, hit the reply button, type the word bump, and post that reply.

They are just typing "bump" in the reply. They can read the post at a later date, because it shows up in your updates section of your home page. I do it from time to time for recipes I don't have time to write down right then, and it's easier to find the post again that way.
