Do they still run that program in the UK super fat vs. super skinny. I really enjoyed watching that show and the stark realities of those people. I didnt like some of the fluffy stuff they put in it like what's her face and the were fat club. She was a bit much, but I loved that doctor and just enjoyed the show it gave me a lot to think about and was one of my original motivators.

It's a channel 4 programme so if you go on to the channel 4 site you will be able to find out and I think with More on 4, you may be able to catch re runs

I dont know if there's a new series, but you can usually find repeats being shown somewhere!

I just watched two episodes on YouTube. I really like the concept. I felt so bad for the heavy people when they just sat there with their one cup of tea or one sausage while watching the thin person eat loads of eggs and toast with jam.

The things they did to scare the heavy people into eating better sort of scared me too. Even though I'm losing weight, seeing those types of things terrify me. I always worry I'm doing too little too late (even though my recent blood work was nearly perfect) and that I won't get to a healthy weight before I have a stroke or something. It also shows me what I very nearly did to myself, and it freaks me out a bit.

It's a very interesting show. I like the doctor but don't care for the weird "fluff" portions (like the narrator lady talking about her wrinkles and then going to ballet class). I'm going to keep looking up episodes on YouTube. I want to see how everyone else turns out. :)

Here in the US, I have watched some of those shows on you tube and find them totally "addicting' (that and "Secret Eaters") … I do find them totally addicting. What is truly amazing about UK TV and the subject matter is how they drive home self awareness and "fitness". It drives home the message to me my fitness level is all on me...

I also feel really sorry for the skinny people having to try and eat that much. There was one guy served up a a 3 breakfast, then an hour later, a burger and chips. They other guys looked like he was going to cry at the thought of eating any more.

It's on now and again so you just need to keep an eye on the schedule. I like how it shows that being really thin and really fat are both bad for your health. It's an eye opener.

That is true, especially when it was obvious their issues stemmed from borderline anorexia and not just, "I'm too busy to eat much." I felt so happy when they'd start to eat more (and *enjoy* eating) near the end of the week.

I love that show! It's part of what inspired me to actually start losing weight. And it's such a stark contrast to shows like Biggest Loser or Extreme Makeover Weight Loss, in that they actually give a respectful wake up call and ask the participants to make healthy, sustainable changes in their everyday lives. And they seem so much more respectful. I feel like Biggest Loser is more about making a spectacle of people than actually inspiring change.

Agreed. It's a much more realistic approach and hopefully gives viewers a lot more confidence about losing weight. I like when they ask the heavy person what they did over the course of three months (or however long it is), and they say, "Oh, I just cut my portion sizes and went to the pool for an hour every couple days," and they end up losing 10 pounds and four inches off their waist. :) I'm always like, "YES. EXACTLY."

Shows like "Extreme Makeover" and "Biggest Loser" make it look like you HAVE to workout four hours per day to lose weight. It drives me crazy.
