I just wanted to share with you guys the wonderful week I am having. The good part is that I have family over at my house for the entire week. The nightmare comes when we have dinners schedule every night of that week. Sunday, my mother in law made dinner (chinese); monday, we went out to eat (chinese); tuesday, we went out to eat, japanese buffet; today, we will go out and eat (italian); tomorrow, we will go out and eat; friday (christmas day) another huge dinner....HELP!!!!!!!!!!! How I am supposed to stay on my "life style change" with so many temptations. I am trying to eat very little during the day and leave the bulk of my calories for dinner, but even then it is very difficult. Please, give me some ideas, because I am at wits end. Thank you

  • Pack your lunches and eat normally through the day. Just have a side salad when you go out... or a side of steamed veggies, or a baked potato. Think of going as a snack... not as your meal. It's impossible to stay in your calories when you eat out day after day. If people get offended that you don't order meals when you eat out say it upsets your stomach or something

I find it really hard during the holidays and I have lost 50lbs. I still gain a little bit during this season. I think you are doing it right by leaving the bulk till the night and just remember to exercise as much as possible. Walk instead of driving if you can. last year about this time I plateued and I was ok with that because once I got back on board I lost a lot of weight that first week again. just do what you have to do.

Just try and stick to the healthier things on the menu or try portion control. Eat half and take the rest home.
  • Its impossible to just "save" all your calories for the end of the day. By dinner time, you'll be so ravenous that you WILL overeat, because your glucose levels will be so low that all those carbs and empty calories will be impossible to pass up.

Like the other girls said before, eat normally and healthfully all day long, that way you wont be as hungry by the time dinner rolls around. Keep in mind PORTION CONTROL. With impulse control, the power you need to find is within yourself. Before you eat, because of the success and discipline you showed throughout the day with all your other meals, you might feel as if you don't really WANT to undo the great job you did all day long. And after dinner, revel in the great feeling you get when you just know that you haven't succumbed to the temptations that you've been faced with (Gosh i feel like a church pastor!).

And don't forget exercise! I mean, we should all be exercising everyday, right?

I eat what everyone else eats just in small portions.. I fill up on salad and water.. I know that sounds boring but I'm almost at 60 pounds lost and it's not worth it to me to binge anymore.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

try ordering a side dish, or an appetizer for your "meal" instead- I have often found the portions to be so large (I never noticed BEFORE I was trying to lose that it was too much for one person) that you can take some home - I've seen others on here suggest when you get your meal to split it in half, and put it in a to-go box as soon as they bring over your plate- then it's out of sight, out of mind. I have friends that do this - and they have sustained their weight loss. Good Luck! We rooting for you!
