Afternoon slump

HI

I all too often have an afternoon slump that has me reaching for the sugar.

My usual days food is:
Breakfast – oats, banana, vegan protein powder and some soya milk with a soy Americano
Mid morning – fruit and tea/coffee
Lunch – green salad with some sort of protein i.e tuna or chicken (about 50g) and half a boiled egg usually with 50g of brown rice.
Mid afternoon – fruit perhaps...

And then the CRASH!!!!!

Id really appreciate any ideas on how I can beat the reach for the sugar!!

You can try peanuts or almonds in the mid afternoon for a snack instead. The protein will help you feeling full and give you a boost in your energy.

I avoid the afternoon crash by eating 4 to 6 bananas. You'll get a healthy sugar fix, load up on carbs for lasting energy, they digest quickly so you're system isn't taking any extra energy to digest. It's so simple it's perfect! Bananas are my go-to energy source. :)

This may sound odd, but if I dont skip breakfast, THEN I crash.
But if I skip breakfast.. I can eat real food for lunch (not just salad) and then im good for the day.

If I eat breakfast, im starving all day and crashing... (if you're curious, this kinda explains why: )
