ACL surgery - what a way to go!

Its been 6 weeks and 1 day since I had my ACL reconstruction surgery. I tore the ligament in 24 Fitness's TKB (turbo kick boxing) class back in March. I had a bad day at work and was giving 200% energy to the class when the class faught me back. It was a long road to get ready for surgery, and now an even longer road ahead after the surgery. Before surgery I was very active, going to the gym 4-5 days a week for at least 1 hour, meeting with a trainer once a week and LOVED my cardio.
Now all I can do is walk 1/4 mile, ride the bike (really its just going through the motion of the bike, I cant even start a program on the darn thing because I cant pedal fast enough) and some strength exercises. Its very frustrating and I know there is a long road ahead and all I can do is take one step at a time (literally).
At 6 weeks post-op, I have 31% strength back and no longer have to wear my brace. Normal (or goal) strength for 6 weeks is 15-20% so I am ahead of the game, mostly thanks to all the hardwork I put in before surgery.
Im sure it will be no time before I am back to a normal gym routine and my goal for 2010 is to recover 90-100% of my strength back and begin training for a marathon. Right now I am just trying not to gain back any weight that I lost before surgery and I want to learn a few more healthy cooking receipies.
My motto for 2010 - "Only you can let yourself down when it comes to what you want most."
