Quinoa burger from Quinoa Revolution
The Better Burger - from Quinoa Revolution
makes 8
250ml (1cup) water
125ml (1/c) quinoa
cook quinoa
preheat oven to 350
1tbs vegetable oil
1c diced onions
2 cups finely chopped mushrooms
1 tsp minced garlic
3/4 tsp marjoram
1/4 tsp oregano
cook onion in till starts to soften, then add mushrooms, garlic, oregano, marjoram
cook till mushrooms are tender
1 egg
2/3 cup shredded aged cheddar
1/2 c toasted chopped pecans ( I used walnuts )
1/3 c quick cook rolled oats
1 tbsp reduced sodium soy or tamari
Beat egg, add quinoa, mushroom mix, cheese, pecans, oats and soy
Scoop 1/2 c onto greased baking sheet then form into patties
Bake 27-30 min till lightly brown and crisp
