Hi everyone..
Nothing like waiting till last minute..
I brought 2 boxes of cake mix: milk chocolate and red velvet. I have coke zero and diet cherry coke. I was thinking of using the coke zero with milk chocolate and cherry coke with red velvet. What are your thoughts?
Also, do I add oil and eggs in the mix? I heard once all you do is mix one can of coke and one box of cake mix? Feedback is greatly appreciated!
Merry CHRISTmas!

I've done several of these- usually make the cupcakes, haven't made a "full" cake before. When you're making these, you usually just put the can of diet soda, and omit all other ingredients. I have found that if you add 1 or 2 eggs, it helps with the cupcakes not sticking to the paper as bad (they were a little better). Good Luck! (follow the instructions for baking on the box, you still keep the same baking times).0

I'd probably put the diet cherry with the chocolate one, and the regular diet coke with the red velvet...0

Great! Thanks for your feedback!0

If I were making this again, I would probably try non-diet soda in a yummy flavour. I found when I made them with Diet Coke, they had an artificial, chemical taste to them. Try one batch, and see if you like them before you do batch #2.

I used only the cake mix and a can of soda. They were quite mushy, but the whole point is to lower the fat and calories by leaving out the oil and eggs.0 -
interesting! thank you for the feedback!0

Watch the sweetener used. Equal (nutrasweet) breaks down in heat after about 15 minutes and you get less sweet and more chemical flavor. Sacarin (sp?) and Splenda both withstand heat. One of the low sugar sodas might work best?0
